Biography
Rimun Wibowo is a distinguished expert in social and environmental safeguards, holding a PhD from IPB University, awarded in 2012. He possesses in-depth knowledge of international safeguard standards upheld by prominent financial institutions, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, AIIB, JICA, IFC, KfW, ADF, Equator Principles, and HSS, alongside Indonesia’s regulations on land acquisition for public interest. This expertise enables him to skillfully identify and bridge regulatory gaps across these frameworks.
Rimun Wibowo’s extensive experience encompasses the development and implementation of key safeguard and sustainability instruments, such as LARAP, LRP, IPP, FPIC, SEP, GRM, IMA, ESDD, EMA, and ESIA. He currently serves as President Director of EQUATOR GROUP and Chairs the Indonesia Network Learning Centers for Environmental and Social Sustainability (NLCs-ESS), a World Bank-supported initiative through the Country Safeguard Framework Assessment (CSFA) in 2020.
Additionally, He is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science and also serves as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science at Ibn Khaldun University, Bogor, where he continues to make impactful contributions through both academic and applied leadership in environmental science and sustainability.
