From the last week of 2024 until yesterday, January 13, 2025, I’ve received four inquiries from different parties — two from the media and two from company representatives — regarding ESG trends in 2025 and their implications for businesses.
Based on my own knowledge and intuition, I have answers to those questions. However, this morning, I was curious to see what insights could be generated by feeding the predictions I’ve gathered — a total of 21 — into No tebo okLM . Out of these, NotebookLM was able to process 17 due to access restrictions on some sources. Fortunately, the 17 predictions included insights from all the prominent institutions that I consider crucial for understanding these trends.
I then asked NotebookLM to identify the top 10 most frequently mentioned trends, ranked by prevalence, and to summarize each trend in four key points to ensure clarity and ease of reading. Based on those trends, I requested NotebookLM to provide prioritized recommendations for companies in Indonesia, particularly for those aiming to secure investments and financing from global financial institutions and to meet the expectations of international consumers. I believe these two motivations are critical drivers for integrating ESG more deeply into business strategies and operations.
Please enjoy this analysis and set of recommendations, entirely generated by NotebookLM. My role was limited to selecting what I deemed trustworthy sources and applying light editorial adjustments to the final output. I hope you find the insights valuable.
